Frequently Asked Questions
Desiccated Coconut (DC)
-
What is desiccated coconut and what is it used for?
Desiccated coconut is the grated and dried white flesh of the coconut, with moisture typically below 3%. It generally comes in two particle sizes, fine or medium grade. It is popularly used in baked goods such as cakes, biscuits, puddings and confectionery.
-
High Fat or Low Fat desiccated coconut?
We only produce high fat desiccated coconut (oil content above 65%). High fat DC has a superior flavor and texture compared to low fat DC, which is often a byproduct of coconut milk manufacturing.
-
What kind of packaging do you provide?
Standard packaging is multi-ply kraft paper bags with polyethylene liner in 7kg, 10kg, 25kg, or 50kg sizes. 25kg is our most popular option. We also offer custom printing and outer plastic coverings upon request.
-
How much product fits in a 20 or 40 feet container?
A 20ft container fits approximately 12-13 metric tons, and a 40ft container fits 26-27 metric tons. We use corrugated paper lining and desiccant bags to ensure dryness during transit.
Crude Coconut Oil (CNO)
-
What is Crude Coconut Oil (CNO)?
Crude Coconut Oil is the raw oil extracted from copra (dried coconut meat). It is an unrefined industrial-grade oil primarily used as a raw material for refining into cooking oil (RBD), or for manufacturing soaps, detergents, and oleochemicals.
-
How do you ensure the quality and freshness of your CNO?
We maintain strict quality control by monitoring the Free Fatty Acid (FFA) levels and Peroxide Value (PV). Our CNO typically maintains an FFA of 5% Max, ensuring it is a high-quality raw material for refineries. Our on-site laboratory tests every batch before shipment.
-
What are the logistics options for shipping CNO?
We ship Crude Coconut Oil in bulk using Flexibags (inside 20ft containers) for maximum efficiency, or in standard 200L steel drums depending on the customer's requirements and discharge facilities.
-
Is your CNO production environmentally friendly?
Yes. Our CNO production is part of our zero-waste integrated process. We utilize the coconut shells as fuel for our boilers or process them into high-quality charcoal, ensuring no part of the coconut goes to waste.
